With little fanfare, Westlake Village Westlake (5-7 overall) has become a factor in the Marmonte League, raising its league record to 4-3 with a 10-6 victory over Moorpark on Wednesday.

The Warriors are young, and their players are starting to figure out how to succeed. Junior Tim Wise had three hits, sophomore Nelson Spruce had three hits and junior Christian Yelich had two hits. Junior Cameron Cuneo allowed one earned run in five innings.

The Warriors are only one game behind co-league leaders Royal and Simi Valley.
