As if Crenshaw needed more talent for the 2009 football season, the Cougars have picked up quarterback Josh Williamson, a former Dorsey quarterback who played last season at Los Angeles Cathedral.

Williamson was supposed to be the starter at Cathedral this season. Now he’ll battle returnee Marquis Thompson for the starting job at Crenshaw, the heavy favorite to win the City Section championship and contend for a bowl berth.

Williamson is already playing for the Cougars in spring seven-on-seven tournaments, and Los Angeles Jordan Coach Elijah Asante said he was impressed with Williamson and the Cougars.

‘They are the team to beat,’ Asante said.
