Bishop Amat sent 15 batters to the plate during a nine-run third inning tonight on the way to a 12-6 victory over Lakewood in the Redondo tournament at the Major League Baseball Urban Academy in Compton.

Mike Rodriguez, Jerry McClanahan and Josh Genzuk had two hits apiece for Bishop Amat (16-5), ranked No. 9 in the Southland by The Times. Anthony Razo went three for four and drove in two runs for No. 24 Lakewood (14-9-1), which has dropped four consecutive games and will likely fall out of the rankings.

Nevada Las Vegas-bound right-hander Brady Zuniga (7-1) pitched a complete game for Bishop Amat, giving up eight hits and six runs--five earned--to win his seventh consecutive game. Zuniga struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

Bishop Amat advanced to play Long Beach Wilson on May 2 in the championship of the Redondo tournament at a site and time to be determined.
