Los Angeles Roosevelt had never lost three games to one team in the Eastern League under Coach Scott Pearson, but Bell pulled it off on Tuesday after a 4-3, nine-inning victory over the Rough Riders at Bell.

Bell (13-8, 10-5), which moved into second place in league ahead of Roosevelt (24-6, 9-6), got a two-out walk to Yamel Zamudio in the bottom of the ninth. He moved to second on an errant pickoff attempt and scored when Jose Lopez hit a ground ball off the glove of shortstop Eddie Almeda.

Eduardo Lopez (6-1) picked up the win in relief. Roosevelt had tied the game in the top of the seventh on a two-out RBI single by Frank Aguilar. Alvin Herrera went the distance on the mound for Roosevelt, striking out six, walking five and allowing five hits.

Christian Solis of Bell contributed a two-run single in the third inning. Zamudio, a freshman shortstop, was magnificent in the field for the Eagles, who earlier in the season beat Roosevelt by scores of 1-0 and 10-4.
