There’s never a dull moment when Los Angeles Fairfax and Woodland Hills Taft take the court for a basketball game, even if it’s a spring-league game, like the one Monday night.

By the third quarter, Taft Coach Derrick Taylor was ejected after receiving a second technical foul as his team fell behind by eight points. Fairfax Coach Harvey Kitani was doing some yelling at his players. The intensity level was high for these two City Section powers.

Taft rallied behind 6-foot-8 De’Andre Daniels, who had 17 points, and 6-5 Bryce Jones, who finished with 13 points. But a missed Taft free throw gave Fairfax the chance to win with 11 seconds left. The Lions brought up the ball, and after a missed shot by Darius Middleton, Raymond Berry got the rebound and scored as the buzzer sounded, giving Fairfax a 46-44 victory.

Ashton Edwards led Fairfax with 15 points and Berry had 12.
