Girls’ lacrosse: Los Alamitos wins unofficial Southern Section title

Los Alamitos pulled away late in the first half of a 17-11 victory over Cate today in the unofficial Southern Section girls’ lacrosse championship at Mira Costa.

Cascade Zak had six goals and an assist for Cate (16-4-1), ending her season with 76 goals and 20 assists. Tori Thompson added three goals for Cate, which trailed, 13-6, at halftime after staying within one goal of the Griffins until about midway through the first half.
