The Southern Section record for consecutive wins in baseball is 36 held by Lompoc (1971) and Oxnard Rio Mesa (1981), but San Jacinto came close Friday before losing to Menifee Heritage, 3-2, in a regular season finale.

It brought to an end San Jacinto’s 35-game winning streak. San Jacinto has won the last two Southern Section Division VI championships.
