Redlands East Valley cobbled together a three-run second inning to take a 3-1 lead over Crespi this afternoon in a Southern Section Division II semifinal at L.A. Valley College.

After Tyler Shreve tied the score with a fly ball that drove in Ryan Burcroff, Crespi pitcher John Kearns fielded a tapper off the bat of Rico Alanis and threw wildly past first baseman Ryon Healy, allowing Griffith Murphy to score from third base and Alanis to advance to second. Alanis then scored on Jeremy Perez’s single to left field.
