Oaks Christian senior Jules Sharpe was among the 11 qualifiers for Saturday’s championship in the boys’ high jump after clearing 6 feet 8 inches in today’s preliminaries.

Sharpe was one of seven athletes who cleared 6-8, with the other four clearing 6-6. St. John Bosco’s Miles Beal, JSerra’s Harrison Steed, Vista Murrieta’s Nick Ross and Ayala’s Obum Gwacham were the other Southland athletes who cleared 6-8.

Pasadena Poly’s Graham Sadler and Quartz Hill’s Maxwell Villalba were the Southland athletes who qualified after clearing 6-6. Crenshaw’s Moriah Johnson cleared 6-6 but did not qualify because the others cleared that height on earlier attempts.
