Boys’ track: Carroll’s finishing kick edges Thomas

In the first featured showdown at the state track championship preliminaries today at Clovis Buchanan High, L.A. Cathedral’s Randall Carroll caught and passed Crenshaw’s DeAnthony Thomas on the final leg of their 4x100 preliminary heat to win going away.

Official times are not available yet but Cathedral won the heat and Crenshaw finished second. Carroll and Thomas will go head to head later in the 100 meters.
