Girls’ track: Redondo’s Curtis wins 1,600 meter qualifier

Redondo junior Chloe Curtis posted the fastest time in the 1,600 preliminary heats today at the state track and field championships, winning in 4 minutes 50 seconds.

Orange Lutheran’s Staci Foster was second in 4:50.89 and Palos Verdes’ Rebecca Mehra was third in 4:51.32. Other qualifiers from the Southland for Saturday’s championship were Templeton’s Savannah Camacho (4:51.57) and Esperanza’s Christine Adams (4:54.84).
