Girls’ track: Carter wins 100 hurdles in fastest time this year

Claremont junior Kori Carter more than made up for a lackluster showing in her preliminary heat to win the championship in the girls’ 100 meter hurdles, finishing in 13.59 seconds--the fastest time in the nation this year.

We’ll see if Carter can duplicate that feat in the 300 hurdles after failing to win her preliminary heat Friday.

Diamond Ranch’s Karynn Dunn was third in the 100 hurdles in 13.96.
