Football: Alemany defeats Culver City in Pierce tournament final

Mission Hills Alemany, led by running back Malcolm Marable and quarterback Vernon Adams, defeated Culver City in the championship game of the Pierce College seven-on-seven passing tournament Saturday.

Culver City linebacker Victor Burnett had a big day with interceptions. Quarterback Marquel Carter and receiver Noah Ashley also were standouts for Culver City.

Arleta and Birmingham were the other semifinalists in the tournament.
