Huntington Beach Edison left little doubt that it’s the king of seven-on-seven passing tournament football, winning the Air Strike tournament Saturday at Dana Hills by winning all six of its games and beating Westlake Village Oaks Christian twice.

The Chargers’ receivers were the best as a group, led by Jeff Trojan, Dylan Leener and Wade Houston. Quarterback Matt Viles was consistent throughout.

Oaks Christian showed off a terrific sophomore receiver in Jordan Payton, who was making acrobatic catches all day. The Lions got tired after playing eight games.

Ventura St. Bonaventure and Rancho Santa Margarita were the other semifinalists. The surprise team of the day was Anaheim Servite, which lost to St. Bonaventure in a bracket semifinal. Servite played without its starting quarterback, Cody Fajardo. Sophomores Cody Pittman and Butch Pauu filled in.
