Football: A revitalized Hart wins Conejo Valley title

So much predicting the demise of Newhall Hart. The Indians don’t seem to have the overall talent of their championship teams from years past, but they still know how to compete in summer passing tournaments. They won the Conejo Valley tournament Saturday, defeating Simi Valley Royal in the final.

Free safety Ty MacArthur and receiver Blake Borland were the Indians’ top players. The top teams in each bracket from Friday advanced to the championship bracket Saturday at Newbury Park, though Westlake Village Westlake decided not to participate at Newbury Park.

That left the door open for Hart to defeat Palmdale and Camarillo, among others.
