Gardena Serra certainly passes the eyeball test when it comes to basketball talent. On Tuesday night in the Fairfax tournament, the Cavaliers had 6-foot-10 junior Kevin Johnson, 6-9 senior Jordan Mitchell, a transfer from Redondo, and unveiled guard Keith Shamburger, a standout at LaVerne Lutheran two seasons ago who sat out last season after attending Long Beach Cabrillo and being denied athletic eligibility.

And the Cavaliers showed off their talent by routing a good North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake team, 85-63. Next up for Serra is a Thursday quarterfinal game at 8:30 p.m. against the winner of Wednesday’s first-round game between Santa Ana Mater Dei and La Canada.
