Boys’ basketball: Santa Monica, Long Beach Poly advance

Santa Monica and Long Beach Poly won their quarterfinal games of the Fairfax tournament and will meet Saturday at 6 p.m. in a semifinal game.

Santa Monica routed the host Lions, 76-61, behind guard Solomon Singer, who scored 20 points. It was the third time this spring and summer that Santa Monica has knocked off Fairfax. Long Beach Poly defeated Orange Lutheran.

The other semifinal Saturday will match Westchester against Gardena Serra at 7:30 p.m. The winners will play in the championship game Sunday at 6 p.m.
