Boys’ basketball: It’s California for Solomon

His older sister went there. One of his future teammates is headed there.

So perhaps it should have come as no surprise that Price big man Richard Solomon announced he has committed to California.

The 6-foot-9 Solomon, who will play at Price next season after transferring from Bishop Montgomery, will be joined in Berkeley for the 2010-11 season by Knights teammate Allen Crabbe.

Solomon, whose older sister Am’ra attended Cal, said he chose the Bears over Oregon State.

‘Cal just seemed like the best fit for me as a person, a student and a player,’ Solomon told Rivals.com. ‘They have it all, and when you get a chance to play for Coach [Mike] Montgomery, you can’t pass that up.’
