Anthony Barr broke through the left side for an impressive 32-yard touchdown run to pull Loyola into a 7-7 tie with Mira Costa this evening at L.A. Valley College midway through the second quarter.

A promising drive had just ended for Loyola in a missed 30-yard field goal after quarterback Jerry Neuheisel suffered a three-yard loss on third down when he fumbled the football.

It was first and 10 for the Cubs at the Mira Costa 13-yard line, but Barr was held to three yards in two carries before Neuheisel’s fumble.

Neuheisel’s first varsity completion was a 16-yarder to Nat Bellamy on the play before Barr’s touchdown.
