Losses are few and far between for Long Beach Poly under Coach Raul Lara. Blowout losses are even rarer. The Jackrabbits are 94-15 under Lara, with nine of the losses coming by eight points or fewer.

Poly’s 30-7 loss to Servite on Thursday ranked among the most one-sided defeats the Jackrabbits have suffered in recent years.

‘They kicked our rear ends,’ Lara said.

Other lopsided losses:

Mission Viejo mauled Poly, 41-14, in 2004 en route to winning the Southern Section Division II title. Poly went 13-1 and won the Division I crown.

Concord De La Salle whipped the Jackrabbits, 28-7, in 2002 on the way to going 13-0 and winning its section title.

Bellevue (Wash.) defeated Poly, 30-16, in 2005.

De La Salle defeated Poly, 29-15, in the famous 2001 clash of the titans matching what were widely considered the top two teams in the country.

Birmingham bounced back from a season-opening loss to hang a 20-7 defeat on the Jackrabbits in 2007. The Patriots finished 13-1 and won the City Section title while Poly rebounded to win the first of back-to-back Pac-5 Division crowns.
