It could be a weekend of milestones for Bill Redell.

The Oaks Christian coach is scheduled to emcee the 50th reunion of the San Marino High Class of 1959 on Saturday at Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach.

An even more momentous occasion could come Friday, when a victory over nationally regarded Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline could give Redell his 200th victory in 22 years as a high school coach. It won’t come easy.

Skyline is a two-time defending state champion that has a 30-game winning streak and features Brigham Young-bound quarterback Jake Heaps.

‘With the exception of St. Bonaventure and Cardinal Newman, it will be the best team we’ve played since I’ve been at Oaks Christian,’ said Redell, who is 110-11-1 in his 10 years with the Lions.

Oaks Christian is scheduled to depart for Seattle on Thursday morning and practice later in the day at the University of Washington. The game starts at 7 Friday and will be televised by ESPNU.
