Football: City Section comes up with rankings

The City Section athletics office has come up with its first rankings of football teams by divisions. At least it’s something to debate.

Here’s the Division I rankings: 1. Crenshaw, 2. Venice, 3. Narbonne, 4. Carson, 5. Gardena, 6. West Adams, 7. Jordan, 8. Taft, 9. Garfield, 10. Dorsey.

I think Taft is too low, and its tough nonleague schedule deserves consideration. Ditto for Carson.

Here’s the Division II rankings: 1. El Camino Real, 2. Arleta, 3. Fairfax, 4. Franklin, 5. Canoga Park, 6. Roosevelt, 7. Cleveland, 8. Bell, 9. Hamilton, 10. Huntington Park.
