Football: West Adams, Hollywood move to Division I

The City Section has released the division breakdown for football, and there were a couple of surprises. West Adams, in its third season of football, has moved up from Division II to Division I, along with a resurgent Hollywood. Both schools are 3-0 this season.

The decision was made before the season began. There are 33 Division II teams this season and 24 in Division I.

Here’s the Division I teams: Crenshaw, Dorsey, Fremont, Locke, Banning, Carson, Gardena, Narbonne, San Pedro, Washington, Venice, Westchester, Garfield, Jordan, West Adams, Hollywood, Santee, Kennedy, San Fernando, Taft, Birmingham, Chatsworth, Granada Hills.

Here’s the Division II teams: Manual Arts, Jefferson, Fairfax, Hamilton, Palisades, University, Bell, Roosevelt, Huntington Park, South East, South Gate, Belmont, Eagle Rock, Franklin, Lincoln, Marshall, Wilson, Bernstein, Contreras, Los Angeles, Roybal, Arleta, Canoga Park, El Camino Real, Grant, North Hollywood, Poly, Van Nuys, Monroe, Panorama, Reseda, Verdugo Hills, Cleveland.
