For all those who thought Edison was a just passing-league team, take notice. The Chargers defeated No. 2-ranked Servite, 23-9, in a dominating second-half performance.
‘They kicked our butt,’ Servite Coach Troy Thomas said.
Edison improved to 4-0. The Chargers were the best team in seven-on-seven passing competitions, but they showed Friday they can hit with pads. Servite didn’t score an offensive touchdown.
Edison quarterback Matt Viles didn’t suffer a sack all night. He passed for 226 yards. Wade Houston rushed for 105 yards. Next up for the Chargers is a Thursday game against Mater Dei.
