Lakewood football players could have a date with destiny. It’s Friday night at 7:30 at Long Beach Veterans Stadium. Prime Ticket will be there when the Lancers try to end Long Beach Poly’s 80-game win streak in Moore League play.

Lakewood’s defense will be difficult to deal with. The Lancers have produced 20 turnovers in five games. They recorded consecutive shutouts against Compton and Verbum Dei. Defensive lineman Todd Barr has four sacks.

It’s the Poly mystique that Lakewood players must deal with. The Jackrabbits aren’t going down without a fight.
