La Puente Bishop Amat ends first half with 23-14 lead

After trailing by seven points against Mission Hills Alemany, La Puente Bishop Amat scored 23 unanswered points in the second quarter and have a 23-14 halftime lead.

First was Jerry McClanahan’s 11-yard touchdown run at the 11:52 mark.

Second was a reverse play to Jay Anderson that resulted in a flea flicker 38-yard touchdown pass from Rio Ruiz to Darien Johnson at the 8:08 mark.

Third was Jovanni Marquez and Daniel Kane tackling Warriors quarterback Vernon Adams in the end zone for a safety at the 6:40 mark.

Fourth was Anderson’s two-yard touchdown run at the 3:48 mark for 23-7 lead.

The Warriors wouldn’t go away though. They put together a four-play 48-yard drive that ended in Adams connecting with Sean Haynes for a 28-yard touchdown pass.
