The Woodland Hills Chamber of Commerce ought to buy a bell to award to the winner of Friday night’s West Valley League game between the two high schools in the Woodland Hills zip code, Taft and El Camino Real.

For once, this is a game to get excited about. El Camino Real is 7-0 overall, 2-0 in league and has been rolling over opponents with his rushing attack. Taft is 4-3 overall, 2-0 in league and is filled with a roster of top athletes.

Both coaches respect their opponent.

Taft Coach Matt Kerstetter on El Camino Real: ‘They’re 7-0. They’re pretty impressive. They’ve been averaging in the 30s.’

El Camino Real Coach Kevin Williams on Taft: ‘They have speed everywhere and they’re big. They have talent everywhere.’

El Camino Real, which gets to host the game at 7 p.m., hasn’t beaten Taft since 1991. The winner should take the West Valley championship and earn Woodland Hills bragging rights.
