Los Alamitos has put together a 91-yard drive, with Twin Fernandes scoring on a two-yard TD run, giving the Griffins a 21-10 lead over Fountain Valley with 7:32 left.
If Los Alamitos wins, it would improve to 8-2 overall and 3-2 in league, the same record as Fountain Valley and be tied for second place in the Sunset League. If Newport Harbor wins Friday, there would be a three-way tie for second and require coin flips to decide playoff positions.
Los Alamitos got a huge defensive play from Aaron Davis in the third quarter. He sacked Fountain Valley quarterback Dominic Ragland for an 11-yard loss on third down, forcing a punt.
