The Eastern League teams are not exactly distinguishing themselves in the City Section Division I playoffs. L.A. Jordan was blasted by Narbonne, 33-0, and Garfield finds itself trailing Taft, 34-0, at halftime.
Shaquille Shelton is the latest Taft speedster to burn the Bulldogs, running 44 yards for a touchdown with 19 seconds left before halftime.
It’s looking like the No. 4-seeded Toreadors will get to host the winner of Dorsey-San Pedro in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday.
