Football: Vallodolid’s field goal gives Hueneme early lead

Osvaldo Valladolid’s 36-yard field goal struck the crossbar and skipped through the uprights to give Hueneme a 3-0 lead over Hart with 2:03 remaining in the first quarter of a Northern Division first-round game at College of the Canyons.

Hart’s Ty McMacArthur returned the ensuing kickoff 45 yards but the Indians went three-and-out and C.J. Reyes’ punt rolled dead at Hueneme’s 1-yard line. The Vikings will have a second-and-one at their own 10-yard line as the second quarter begins.
