Football: Carson defense holds, preserves shutout

Just when it looked like Locke might get back in the game, Carson’s defense came up with a big play. On fourth-and-seven at the Colts’ 16-yard line, Saints quarterback Omar Herrera completed a pass to Killyeon Cooper but he was tackled inches short of the first down marker.

Carson took over on downs and leads 24-0 late in the third quarter of tonight’s City Section Division I quarterfinal.
