Forget about L.A. Price being a small-schools power. Price showed in the opening week that it can take on teams from any division in winning the Pasadena tournament.

California-bound guard Allen Crabbe was selected the tournament MVP. His future Cal teammate, Richard Solomon, also played a major role, along with all-tournament selection Casey Trujeque.

Price defeated Corona Centennial, 81-72, in the championship game.
