Football: Mira Costa hangs on for 24-21 victory

Mira Costa has defeated Alemany 24-21 to win tonight’s Southern Section Western Division championship at College of the Canyons.
Alemany had a first down at its own 22-yard line with 16 seconds left but quarterback Vernon Adams threw two long incompletions. Then, with the final two seconds ticking off the clock, he was hit from behind and fumbled before he could unleash a desperation pass downfield.

Adams did not complete a pass in the second half.
