Football: Mustangs leading 14-13 at halftime

Mira Costa leads Alemany 14-13 at halftime of tonight’s Southern Section Western Division final at College of the Canyons.

The top-seeded Mustangs, playing in their second straight division final, took a 14-13 lead on a quarterback keeper by Kyle Demarco.

Demarco has completed 3 of 4 passes for 64 yards but Mira Costa has been outgained 233 yards to 163.

Alemany quarterback Vernon Adams has completed 8 of 14 passes for 85 yards and has added 52 yards rushing. Malcolm Marable did most of his damage in the first quarter and has 99 yards in 12 carries.

Mira Costa will get the ball first in the second half.
