I have a feeling Narbonne Coach Manuel Douglas will be talking about the two controversial plays that went against his team if Crenshaw’s 21-7 halftime lead holds up in the City Section Division I championship at the Coliseum.

An apparent shovel pass from Gauchos quarterback Chad Dashnaw was ruled a fumble in the first quarter and then Narbonne inexplicably lost a down in the second quarter when it had reached Crenshaw territory. The Gauchos could have tied the score with a touchdown on that drive, but instead they turned the ball over on downs and the Cougars marched for another touchdown to take a two-score lead.

Tailback Geoffrey Norwood has 76 yards in 14 carries and De’Anthony Thomas has 60 yards and two touchdowns in seven carries for Crenshaw.

Dashnaw has completed eight of 11 passes for 116 yards with an interception and Melvin Davis has rushed for 25 yards and a touchdown in seven carries for Narbonne.

The Gauchos will get the ball to start the third quarter.
