It’s raining at the Coliseum, and Crenshaw Coach Robert Garrett is walking his unbeaten team to the locker room dressed in his usual shorts and jacket.

Asked for an injury report, the always colorful Garrett said, ‘This ain’t USC. We don’t need to give an injury report.’

The crowd is sparse so far, but then who wants to sit in the rain 30 minutes before kickoff of the City Section Division I final between the Cougars and Narbonne.

One thing Narbonne is hoping for. That the Cougars aren’t as good on grass as they are at home on their synthetic turf field. A couple turnovers and who knows what happens. And it’s really raining hard 30 minutes before kickoff.
