Football: Locals on USA Today team

Defensive lineman Ronald Powell from Moreno Valley Rancho Verde and receiver Robert Woods from Gardena Serra were first-team selections on the USA Today national football team.

Second-team choices were running back Malcolm Jones from Oaks Christian, defensive back Sean Parker from Narbonne and running back De’Anthony Thomas from Crenshaw.
