You didn’t think Gahr was going to go undefeated this season, did you?

The Gladiators gave it a pretty good run, winning their first 14 games before losing to Fresno Clovis West, 74-66, on Saturday night in the California Classic at Cerritos College. Ervin Ware had 26 points and Davon Potts 14 for Gahr (14-1), ranked No. 16 in the Southland by The Times.

Gahr is going to have to get past some heavyweights to win the Division 3A playoffs, which will also likely include Gardena Serra and Compton Centennial, both ranked in The Times’ top 10.

In other action at the California Classic on Saturday, Colroy Gordan scored 19 points to lead Leuzinger to a 73-57 victory over San Diego Maranatha Christian and Keith Shamberger had 15 points to pace Gardena Serra to a 68-37 triumph over La Costa Canyon.

Allen Crabbe and Richard Solomon had 20 points apiece to lead Price to a 69-52 victory over San Diego Hoover. Tyler Funk had 21 points to lead Orange Lutheran to a 73-63 victory over Oakland.
