It’s Round II for the Mission League rivalry game between host Los Angeles Loyola and North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake. A large crowd of 1,200 has packed Loyola’s gym expecting to see a close game. And it should be.

Loyola’s only loss this season was to the Wolverines, 74-70, on Jan. 11. Harvard-Westlake has won 14 consecutive games.

Regardless who wins, both teams figure to contend for Southern Section championships when the playoffs begin in three weeks.

Loyola is ranked No. 1 in Division 1A. Harvard-Westlake is No. 3 in 3A behind Gardena Serra and Compton Centennial. I’ll be blogging when the game begins at 7 p.m.

Former UCLA Coach Walt Hazzard is watching from a wheelchair. His grandson, Jacob, plays for Loyola.
