Tyler Lamb’s 14 points in the first half have led Santa Ana Mater Dei to a 34-29 halftime lead over Las Vegas Bishop Gorman in the Nike Extravaganza.
Max Hooper hit a couple long-range jump shots to boost the Monarchs’ offense in the second quarter.
Mater Dei was having trouble staying with the Gaels’ players on defense, as demonstrated by the Monarchs’ 10 fouls in the first half. That resulted in a slow pace, helping the Gaels.
