North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake’s new $700,000 baseball field taking shape at its former Franklin Field in Encino won’t be available for use on the scheduled opening day on March 6 because weather issues have delayed construction, according to Audrius Barzdukas, the school’s head of athletics.

Final grading of the field is about to take place, and after the new sod is put in, it will take four to six weeks before the field can be used.

Harvard-Westlake will play its scheduled home games at Birmingham until the field is ready.
