Boys’ basketball: Alemany stuns No. 1 Oaks Christian

Alemany’s football team couldn’t beat Oaks Christian, but the basketball team came through Tuesday night, upsetting the top-seeded Lions, 81-75, in a Division 4A quarterfinal game. Sophomore Matt Guercy scored 22 points and junior Jordan Fuller added 20.

Alemany will play Paraclete in the semifinals. The other semifinal will match Mission League rivals Encino Crespi and Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.

In 3A, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake received 30 points from Erik Swoope to defeat Calabasas, 83-68.
