Los Angeles Fairfax has come out scorching in its shooting to open an 18-14 lead over No. 4-seeded Washington in a City Section Division I quarterfinal game at Washington.

Washington struggled early on against Fairfax’s 1-2-2 zone defense, making three turnovers while settling for long jump shots by Michaelyn Scott.

Every Fairfax basket in the first quarter came from three-point range, and there were six. Jordan Weathers made three from three-point range and Donte McFrazier had two.
