Girls’ basketball: Santa Monica 40, Summit 37 at halftime

Thea Lemberger has 12 points and Kristina Johnson has 9 to give second-seeded Santa Monica a 40-37 halftime lead over fourth-seeded Summit in the Division 1A Southern Section championship tonight at Santa Ana Mater Dei.

Santa Monica led 18-16 after one quarter, and the teams have traded baskets since. This is a very fast-paced game and both teams are shooting pretty well from the field, Santa Monica has converted 62% of its shots, Summit 52%.

The Skyhawks and the Vikings have each made four-three pointers, all of Santa Monica’s came in the second quarter.

Adrianne Thomas has 12 points for Summit, and Alyssa Domingo added eight, including two three-pointers.
