St. Bernard is one quarter away from the Southern Section 6AA championship.

The Vikings outscored Hillcrest Christian 17-5 in the third quarter and have a 35-25 lead with only eight minutes left at Colony High.

Angelica Laury (17 points) and Gabrielle Adoh (13) have scored all but 5 of St. Bernard’s points, but the Vikings haven’t needed balanced scoring because their size advantage in the post is allowing them to dominate the glass. They have 25 offensive rebounds already.

Brittany Espinoza has 6 points to lead the Eagles, who scored their first points of the third quarter on a pair of free throws by Paris Wagner with 1:34 left.
