Baseball: Mater Dei loses its top pitcher for season

It was not good news this week for Santa Ana Mater Dei’s baseball team. Its top pitcher, Matt Blanchard, a three-year varsity player, was lost for the season after undergoing surgery for a torn labrum.

The Monarchs are going to face a big challenge later in the season when Trinity League play begins.
