Boys’ basketball: Good morning, and it’s time for basketball

There were early morning wake-up calls for players from Gardena Serra and Compton Centennial, which meet in the 9 a.m. Southern Section Division 3A championship game at the Honda Center to lead off a busy day of basketball.

I’m up bright and early and ready for a long but exciting day of action that’s going to culminate with me heading to the Galen Center for the best game of the day, Westchester vs. Taft at 8 p.m. in the City Section Division I final.

But until then, I’m going to enjoy lots of Southern Section action and bring you the highs and lows.
