Los Angeles Loyola hasn’t played in a basketball game since losing to Lawndale Leuzinger on Feb. 26, but the Cubs are sending out word to their fans, trying to attract a big crowd to Tuesday’s Southern California Regional opener against host Woodland Hills Taft.

And welcoming the Cubs will be former Loyola guard Jordan Gathers.

‘He’ll probably know our play calls, so we’ll have to execute,’ Loyola Coach Jamal Adams said.

Loyola is 26-3, so the Toreadors had better be ready after losing to Westchester on Saturday.

‘I think both teams psychologically are licking wounds,’ Adams said. ‘We still believe we’re a very good team.’
