Boys’ basketball: Poly leading 40-34 at halftime

Chris Camper got an offensive rebound and scored on a layup as time expired, giving Long Beach Poly a 40-34 lead over host Crenshaw in the first round of the Southern California Regional Division I playoffs.

Alexis Moore leads all scorers with 11, Alex Carmon has nine and Shelton Boykin and Ryan Anderson have six apiece for Poly. The Jackrabbits are nine of 15 from the free-throw line.

Emmett Duvall has 10 points and Raynaul Baker and Darnell Taylor have eight apiece for the host Cougars, who have made six of nine free throws.

Boykin has three fouls for Poly and Nathaniel Boykin has three for Crenshaw.
