Pierson Williams contributed three baskets in the third quarter to help Taft emerge with a 50-44 lead over Loyola going into the fourth quarter.

Loyola took a 37-34 lead with 5:45 left in the quarter on a three-pointer by Ryan Oliver.

It was back-and-forth after that. Ex-Loyola guard Jordan Gathers has given Taft a boost with Spencer Dinwiddie on the bench with four fouls and Landon Drew unable to connect from outside.

Taft picked up seven fouls in the quarter, so if Loyola can make its free throws, this game might go down to the wire.
